Tributes paid following death of former councillor and businessman JJ Reid

Tributes are being paid to former Donegal County Councillor JJ Reid who has passed away.

The well-known politician and businessman passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital.

From Stranorlar, Mr Reid had built up one of the most successful car businesses in the North-West with his Volkswagen dealership in Letterkenny.

Mr Reid, who was a member of the Fine Gael party, was on several boards including the North Western Health Board during his time as a local politician.

His remains are reposing at his home in Stranorlar from 6m to 10pm tonight (Fri) and tomorrow, Saturday from 11am until 10pm.

His funeral will take place Sunday at the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am with interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.
