January 29, 2019

A Roscommon man appeared before Letterkenny District Court charged with falsely imprisoning a woman in Letterkenny.

Stephen Connor (42) of Tuam Kilrooskey, County Roscommon, was charged with false imprisonment of the woman at Fortwell, Letterkenny.

Connor was further charged with producing an article capable of inflicting serious injury, assault causing harm and making a threat to kill the woman.

When arrested and charged by Gardai, Connor replied: ‘I didn’t falsely imprison her’ and made no reply to the other charges.

Solicitor for the accused, Patsy Gallagher, said ‘it is quite a complicated matter’.

Connor’s existing bail was extended to these charges.

Judge Paul Kelly adjourned the matter until March 25.
