Listen: Eamonn McConigley puzzled at ‘disjointed’ Letterkenny Rovers

Eamonn McConigley has warned Letterkenny Rovers to buck up their ideas if they’re to stay on the silverware trail.

Rovers were impeccable before the Ulster Senior League’s Christmas recess, but have lost their way somewhat since the resumption.

Rovers scraped past Bonagee United in a Donegal News USL League Cup semi-final, squeezing home 2-1 in a penalty shoot-out.

“We were totally disjointed,” McConigley told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“Every time we got it, we hoofed it and we didn’t play with one another.

The boys will have to realise that we haven’t come out of the blocks since Christmas. We have no composure on the ball.

“We’re going through a bad spell, but we’re scraping results. I had a talk to the players and I’m trying to put my finger on it.

“Morale might be down. Maybe dropping so many points is having an effect. There is a fitness problem with some of the panel.”
