The Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny has reopened following this morning’s incident during which the swimming pool was evacuated.
Six children were taken to hospital after many complained of feeling unwell.
A full investigation has been called for after the incident during which eye-witnesses said they spotted a fluid in the water.
A number of fire tenders and ambulance personnel rushed to the scene.
A message posted a short time ago on the Aura’s Facebook page read “Following the closure of the Aura Letterkenny pool this morning, after precautionary safety measures were taken in line with our safety policies following a minor incident, we wish to advise that the pool will re-open at 4pm. We apologise to all customers for the inconvenience. Aura Management”
