4,000 athletes set to compete in Championships at Finn Valley AC

Finn Valley AC and the track facility at their centre will certainly be buzzing in the days ahead as they host an array of track and field events.

It all kicks  off next Tuesday, May 7th, and continues into Wednesday with local schools in competition likely to involve 750 youngsters as was the case in 2018 as they push to qualify for the 49th annual finals back at Valley on May 22nd.

There is a competitive opportunity for young athletes with the annual Little Athletics on Friday May 17th at 6pm, which normally attracts 500 from the North West clubs.

There is the Donegal open senior championships at 11 am on May 12th and on May 24th, the Donegal Childrens Games.

It’s a hectic programme of activity which gives both an educational opportunity plus should prepare athletes in the area for forthcoming Ulster and national championships.

The Ulster 9–13 champs are at Finn Valley on June 2nd, further enquiries if required from Dermot McGranaghan dermotmcgranaghan@gmail.com
