The formal launch of the Woodland NS ‘Night at the OsKaRs’ fundraising event took place on Friday, May 3 with the seven movies and cast being unveiled to a very excited audience.

There were scores of happy smiles as those involved learned their films and parts before rehearsals got underway.

The casts will now have a busy few weeks ahead, learning lines, practising and most importantly having fun!

The Night at the OsKaRs red carpet event, which is being run by Woodland National School, the Parents Association and Kevin Rowe Events, will take place on Friday, 14th June at 8pm in Silver Tassie Hotel and these seven films will be screened, judged and OsKaRs awarded on the night:

Forrest Gump
Fr Ted
The Blues Brothers (Sisters)
Calendar Girls
Sister Act
Michael Collins
The Snapper

This event is all about raising much-needed funds the Letterkenny school.

Advertising is being sought for the project and a spokesperson said: “The committee and cast members will be working tirelessly to raise funds over the coming weeks.

“So, if there is anyone in the school community who can help with fundraising ideas or any businesses who would be interested in sponsoring the overall event, sponsor a movie or an OsKaR or sponsor an advert in the event brochure, Woodland National School would be delighted to hear from you.”

You can also stay up-to-date with the school fundraiser on Facebook or get further details of forthcoming fundraising events.
