The ever-popular Declan Coughlan Memorial Open Stroke was played at the weekend and saw the largest turnout of the year for a competition.

With the huge numbers competing it was always going to take something special to separate the contenders.

10 Handicapper James Harkin did just that and produced a superb display of golf to top the pile. Just 2 Shots separated the top 10 golfers but with James shooting a magnificent +4 gross round of 60 nett to take the top prize from a group of 5 golfers who all tied on 61.

On top of that pile by virtue of a break of a tie and take, second place was Jamie Friel (22).

Full results of the Declan Coughlan Memorial Open Stroke are as follow; 1st James Harkin (10) 60 nett, 2nd Jamie Friel (22) 61 nett b.o.t., Gross Luke Bradley (3) 67, 3rd Jonathon Doherty (14) 61 nett b.o.t., Best Day John Bonner (18) 62 nett b.o.t (Saturday) and Back 9 Kevin Tracey (22) 27 nett – C.S.S. 64
