An elderly woman suffered a frightening ordeal after her handbag was snatched in Letterkenny on Friday evening.
The woman was close to the Station Roundabout when a man snatched the handbag and ran away around 9.30pm.
Gardai carried out an investigation in the area and a man was later arrested and is currently being questioned at Letterkenny Garda station.
He is expected to appear at a future sitting of the local courts.
