Bronze medals for Magees after semi-final loss

CHLOE AND SAM Magee will leave Minsk with bronze medals.

Gabrielle and Chris Adcock of Great Britain overcame the Magees in straight sets this morning.

The Adcocks took a 21-8 21-18 win in the semi-final.

It was a real family affair on court one at the Falcon Club with the Raphoe siblings in against the British husband-wife duo.

Yesterday’s 21-19 21-17 win over Selina Piek and Robin Tabeling from Netherlands has guaranteed the Magees a place on the podium.
Number 1 seeds, the Adcocks, claimed am impressed first game 21-8.

The Magees turned in a battling display but the Adcock pair took the second game 21-18 to end the Magees’ involvement.

It has been a positive week, though, with the Raphoe pair winning against Russia and Belarus, either side of a battling loss to France.

It is the third time the Magees will take away a bronze from a European stage.

They were the bronze medalist at the first edition of the European Games in 2015 and also at the 2017 European Badminton Championships.
