A petrol station in the Donegal village of Muff was targetted in a ‘hole in the roof’ style burglary this week.
The break-in occurred in the early hours of Monday morning (15th July) when thieves cut a hole in the ceiling of a local petrol station and shop.
Significant damage was caused as water pipes were burst at the point of entry. Gardaí believe this ‘spooked’ the burglars as nothing was taken in the incident.
Gardaí attended the scene after the store alarm was activated between 2.30am and 2.50am.
An investigation is underway and gardaí are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the burglars.
