With so many hidden gems and untouched locations, Donegal is a dream county for intrepid explorers.

Many people strive to find the ‘secret waterfalls’ and amazing caves that lie across the county.

Now, another magical place has popped up on the radar.

Two brave adventurers discovered this hidden waterfall deep in the Derryveagh Mountains in Gweedore. The 50ft feature is an impressive spectacle:

The waterfall was found by Conor and Sarah, who share their trips on the @GraniteNomads Instagram page.

They had to hike upriver to reach the bottom of the waterfall and warned that it’s not easy to access.

Conor and Sarah use their page to show that Gweedore in Donegal is a playground for the adventurer – “and not just GAA and pubs!”

The couple kitted out their own mini camper van for their trips and enjoy hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, longboard skating and camping in their spare time.

“We just want to show people you don’t always need to go away abroad to get amazing experiences and travel spots when we have them right here on your doorstep,” Conor said.

“You just need your coat, your camera and when the sun comes out Donegal is the most picturesque, beautiful place in the world.”
