Daniel Gildea scored twice as the Finn Harps U17s secured an important 4-2 win over Longford Town on Sunday at the City Calling Stadium.

Fellow Republic of Ireland international colleague Fionnan Coyle also found the back of the net along with Jamie Doherty and Adam McCaffrey.

Declan Boyle’s outfit are back in action this weekend with a home game against Derry City at Finn Park (kick-off 2.00). Harps are third in the table with two games left to play and are in a very good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

Meanwhile, there will also be a Northwest derby for the Finn Harps U19s on Sunday against Derry City at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium (kick-off 2.00pm).

Joe Boyle’s boys are second in the Elite Northern Section and well placed to secure a spot in the national play-offs.
