RATHMULLAN JOCKEY Oisin Orr remains in touch for the Apprentice Jockeys’ Championship title after his latest win.

Orr is just one winner off Andrew Slattery at the head of the leaderboard.

Orr was victorious on Dermot Weld’s Hazel Bay at Dundalk this evening.

A 7/2 chance, Hazel Bay was given the timber by Orr with a furlong to go and the Donegal man had almost a length to spare at the end of the trace, seeing off 33/1 shot Liquid Luck.

“Two furlongs down I was sitting with a lot of horse and nothing to lead me,” Orr said.

“I wanted a lead for a bit further but when I did ask her she went on about her business and did it well.

“Hopefully she can step forward from that now, usually they do when they get their head in front.

“She’s had a few nice runs under her belt and hopefully can step forward.”
