It was a busy week for the Rosses AC on so many fronts from underage to adults, while Helen McCready was selected to represent Ireland at the British and Irish Masters Cross Country Championships.

Following on from her brilliant 4th place F35 finish in Santry recently, McCready received confirmation of her inclusion this week – joining Emer McGee who was 3rd in her category in Dublin – a huge well done to you both from all in the club.

Club notes:

Overall another brilliant day for the club with some excellent individual and team performances. Some of the highlights of the day was Tiarnan Rodgers 6th in the u14 boys, Amy Green 5th in the u16 girls and Niamh Doogan 6th in the u10 girls.

In the team’s sections, the boys u10 team secured hard-fought silver medals while there was great team running by the girls u10 team in securing silver medals.

The boys’ u13 team were all out of their age today and still managed a 5th team placing – fantastic results !!!!

Congrats to our 9 teens selected as part of the Ulster Regional Athletics Academy – Leah Mc Garvey, Rachel Boner, Aine Boner, Amber Gallagher, Any Greene, Erin Gallagher, Conor Houston, Conor Mangan, Johnson Bangora. These athletes have been selected based on their recent performance in the u16-u19 age group competitions.

At the Donegal Primary Schools Cross Country Championships last week, a number of the local schools made the journey to Buncrana with Evan Ward being the stand outperformance of the day as he came home first to claim a gold medal in the u9s race.
