Magees advance to quarter-finals in Germany

RAPHOE DUO Sam Magee and Chloe Magee have advanced to the quarter-finals of the SaarLorLux Open in Germany.

The Magees defeated Eloi Adam and Margot Lambert from France in a round of 16 game today.

The Donegal siblings were 21-18 21-17 winners in straight games at Saarbrücken.

The Magees opened their account with a 21-17 21-15 win over Bjarne Geiss and Emma Moszczynski from Germany.

The fourth seeds in the tournament, the Magees will face fifth seeds Ren Xiang You and Zhou Chao Min, who overcame Fan Qiu Yue and Huang Jia 21-13 21-12.
