A Donegal man has been sent forward for trial over an alleged assault on a woman in Galway city last year.
David Molloy (40), of Churchtown, Kilcar, appeared before Galway District Court charged with assault causing harm under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
The offence is alleged to have taken place at number 60 Lismore on the Cappagh Road in Knocknacarra on October 1 of last year.
The Director of Public Prosecutions consented to the matter being sent forward for trail on indictment before Galway Circuit Court.
Galway Daily report that onsent was also given for the case to be sent forward on assigned guilty plea, though the District Court heard that this issues was not arising at the moment.
Garda Noel Lydon presented the Book of Evidence in this case to the District Court, and Judge Mary Fahy cautioned Molloy that if he intends to offer an alibi he is obliged to inform the state within 14 days.
The court consented to Molloy being sent forward for trial at the next sitting of Galway Circuit Court sitting for criminal business starting on November 26.
