ANTHONY Gorman praised his Letterkenny Rovers players as they reached the last 16 of the FAI Youth Cup.

Rovers defeated Greystones 4-1 at Leckview Park to move into the next phase.

Kealan Dunleavy, Jack Dwyer, Nathan Plumb and Kelan Collier netted as the Cathedral Town side took the win.

“It was a fantastic victory against a strongly-fancied Greystones,” Gorman told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“We played our way into the game. We defended solidly. We worked hard. We conceded quite a bit of possession, but I knew from set plays we could be dangerous.

“The first goal was a game-changer. Their tails were up, they were knocking it about and they were a big, strong team, but the goal settled us down. It knocked the stuffing out of them a wee bit.”
