Donegal delight as Inishowen pair win Turkey Run Rally

INISHOWEN duo Aaron McLaughlin and Darren Curran won yesterday’s Turkey Run Rally in Ballykelly.

The Donegal pair led the way from start to finish in their R5 Fiesta.

McLaughlin and Curran had 35 seconds to spare on Alan Carmichael and Ivor Lamont in a Hyundai R5. 

Barry Morris and Declan Campbell were a further 47 seconds back in a Darrian.

McLaughlin and Curran set fastest times on four of the five loops at Schackelton. 

Dean O’Sullivan and Marty Gallagher swapped seats (with O’Sullivan driving here and Gallagher calling the notes) to finish second in class 1 in a Honda Civic, with Raphoe siblings Ronnie and Rachel McConnell third. 

Ramelton pair Sean Heraghty and Gary Lockhard were third in class 4 in their Corolla.

Dungloe’s John Bonner and David Bonner were second in class 7 in their Escort
