LETTERKENNY AC’s Nakita Burke has been selected for the Northern Ireland and Ulster Team for Thursday’s Armagh International Road Races.

Burke has been showing good form and is included on the women’s team alongside Rachel Gibson, Laura Graham and Sarah Lavery.

The Northern Ireland and Ulster teams are looking strong for team positions at the event.

The selected men have all run sub 14:50 for 5000m in the last year and the women have all run sub 17 minutes for 5000m or sub 10 minutes for 3000m.

Director of Coaching and Athlete Development, Jackie Newton, said: “We are very pleased with the teams that we have selected for Armagh this year – most of them have run a personal best for 5000m or 5k this year and will be very competitive against the other high performance runners that Armagh attract to this event.

“Armagh AC do an extraordinary job in attracting deep fields of competitive athletes from home and overseas including Poland, Finland, the USA and New Zealand and these teams will give them all a good race.”
