March 3, 2020

A Judge has struck out the case of a Donegal man who was arrested on a bench warrant for allegedly stealing €5 worth of Krispie Squares.

The Sligo Champion today reports how Anthony McGinley from Five Points, Killybegs was arrested in the fishing port on Thursday last by Gardai.

A bench warrant had been issued for his arrest by the Dublin District Courts after the 38-year-old had failed to turn up to answer the charges.

It was alleged that McGinley had stolen the bars at the Circle K store on Usher’s Quay.

McGinley was taken by Gardai and appeared before Judge Kevin Kilraine at Sligo District Court.

However, Judge Kilraine said he was not going to put the State to any further expense and struck out the case.
