Covid-19: Four deaths confirmed in the north west

Four patients in the north west have died as a result of coronavirus in the past day.

Sixteen deaths were confirmed nationwide today, bringing the death toll in Ireland to 174.

The patients included 6 females and 10 males. Four of the patients were reported as having underlying health conditions. The median age of today’s reported deaths is 78.

370 new cases have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours.

The number of cases in Donegal had risen from 81 to 103.

The total number of cases in Ireland is now 5,364.
