Major smoke damage was caused to a home in Letterkenny which was targetted in a suspected arson attack last week.
Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident which occurred on the Port Road.
The home, located near the Applegreen Garage, was vacant at the time when windows were smashed at the front and rear before the fire.
Gardaí are in the process of narrowing down the timeframe of the incident. It is thought to have occurred between 9pm Sunday 19th April and Thursday 23rd April.
Gardaí also confirmed that the extent of the smoke damage is estimated to run into tens of thousands of euro.
An appeal is underway for witnesses and gardaí are calling on the public to report any suspicious activity seen in the area last week. People are being urged to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-
