Mum & daughter take on Turas Cholmcille barefoot in aid of Mary’s Meals

Mother and daughter duo Mary and Catherine McClelland have embarked on a 3-day barefoot pilgrimage in aid of Mary’s Meals.

The famous pilgrimage, traditionally done barefoot, takes participants on a 5km turas of several stations, including holy landmarks such as St Colmcille’s Chapel and Well.

Mary and Catherine are currently setting out on the third day of their turas, and have so far raised over €360 for Mary’s Meals.

Mary’s Meals supplies children with a meal every day in their place of education in some of the poorest countries in the world.

With €360 in the kitty, Mary and Catherine have already raised enough to feed 19 children for an entire school year!

On their fundraising page, Mary says: “Our path takes 3 hours praying the stations of the cross as we go.

“We are praying for the success of Mary’s Meals fundraising campaigns and for all those who donate. We hope to raise some funds ourselves, whatever you can give, however small goes a long way to feed and educate the children who Mary’s Meals provide for.”
