DRUMKEEN were the visitors to Manor on Monday evening but were officially the home team as this fixture was reversed due to ongoing work at St Patrick’s Park.

Drumkeen 4 Lagan Harps 1

Drumkeen were three up at half time with goals from Sean McVeigh, Rory Craig and Oran Patterson.

Although the half time score did not reflect it Lagan actually began the game well and were well in it and probably had the best of it for the first 20 minutes before Sean McVeigh’s goal things unravelled a bit for them as they conceded two more goals before the break.

Lagan started the second half with a mountain to climb but managed to steady the ship somewhat in the second half.

Lagan tried valiantly tried throughout but they could not make any inroads into Drumkeen’s lead but they did manage to prevent them from scoring for most of the second half.

Drumkeen did manage another goal as Jason McDaid added a fourth goal late in the second half .

There was still time for another goal however and Lagan who had kept battling away throughout were rewarded with a late consolation goal from Tiernan McCauley.

This was a battling team performance from Lagan while Aidan Martin had a fine match for Drumkeen.

Game off

This evening’s game in the Youth League between Swilly Rovers and Milford United has been called off owing to Covid-19 precautions being undertaken by the Milford club.
