Listen: Finn Harps ‘steadily getting better’ – Paul Hegarty

PAUL Hegarty believes that Finn Harps were the better team in yesterday’s north west derby.

The Harps assistant manager pointed to a number of chances that weren’t converted in the scoreless draw with Derry City at Finn Park.

“We had the chances to win the game,” Hegarty told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“At the minute, we’re not getting the rub of the green. We had the chances and we didn’t take them.

“We had four very good chances in the game. I’d struggle to find any good chance they had over the 90 minutes.”

The draw lifts Harps off the bottom of the table, above Cork City on goal difference.

Hegarty said: “I honestly believe that we have a damned good bunch of players. We are steadily getting better.”
