GLENEA United have paid tribute to club stalwart Pádraig McFadden who sadly died last night.

Pádraig, late of Magheroarty, Gortahork, was a regular presence at Glenea United games near and far.

For a number of years, he was a groundsman at Páirc Joe while his sons Kevin and Martin have had great success at the club.

“It was with heavy heart that we heard of the passing of Padraig ‘Mheabha’ McFadden last night,” Glenea United said.

“Padraig was a loyal clubman down through the years and there weren’t many games home or away that he wasn’t on the sideline keeping a close eye on the watch.”

Originally from Inishbofin, Pádraig is survived by his wife Frances, sons Martin and Kevin, brothers Charlie, Denis and John, sisters Margaret and Ann and his extended family and friends.
