Council confirms roads to be gritted from 6am on Monday

DONEGAL County Council’s gritters will be dispatched from 6am on Monday.

The Council has confirmed that a number of routes will be treated from early on Monday with temperatures expected to plummet overnight.

The following routes will be gritted:

01: National Primary North

02: National Primary Central

03: National Primary South

04: Inishowen South

05: Inishowen East

06: Inishowen West

07: Milford South

08: Milford North

09: Cill Ulta East

12: Binswilly

13: Stranorlar North

14: Stranorlar East

15: Stranorlar West

16: Donegal West

17: Donegal North

18: Donegal South

19: Donegal National Secondary

LT: Letterkenny Town

BT: Buncrana Town Council

A status yellow wind warning has also been issued for a number of counties, including Donegal, which will come into effect at 9pm on Monday.

The warning, issued this afternoon, will be valid until 6am on Tuesday.

Southerly winds will reach mean wind speeds of 50 to 65km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110km/h, possibly higher on exposed coasts. Where winds are onshore there is a risk of coastal flooding. ​
