THE chief executive of the HSE, Paul Reid, says that the falling numbers of Covid-19 patients receiving hospital care are ‘reasons to be very hopeful’.
The latest HSE figures show that there are 475 patients across the country receiving hospital care for Covid-19.
At Letterkenny University Hospital, the figure has fallen to 12.
Figures show there are four general and two critical care beds available at LUH with one Covid-19 patient at the facility receiving critical care.
“Infections amongst the most vulnerable and healthcare workers hugely decreasing,” Mr Reid said.
“More to go, so let’s see this through now.”
