March 18, 2021

A Letterkenny man has appeared in court charged with possession of cocaine and cannabis.

Emlyn O’Donnell appeared at Letterkenny District Court today charged with the offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Detective Garda Grainne McLoone told the court that she went to O’Donnell’s flat at Ard O’Donnell on March 22nd, 2017 with a search warrant.

When there she discovered €150 worth of cocaine and €5 worth of cannabis.

The 40-year-old said the drugs were for his own use.

Solicitor Kieran O’Gorman told the court that his client had suffered a serious accident when he was young and broke both his ankles.

He went “off the rails” but was now back on track.

Judge Alan Mitchell fined O’Donnell a total of €200 and gave him six months to pay.
