April 21, 2021

A man who broke into a house armed with a knife has pleaded guilty after he appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court.

Fionn Ponsonby admitted entering a building at Wood Road, Cullion in Letterkenny on November 17th, 2018 with intent to cause a theft.

He also admitted having possession of a knife on him at the time.

Ponsonby, aged 20, from Ros Rossuiligh, Oldtown, Letterkenny, only spoke to plead guilty during his arraignment.

His barrister, Mr Peter Nolan, said his client has some “history” with the courts.

He also requested a probation report and also a psychiatric report saying this was a serious offence.

Judge John Aylmer agreed and adjourned the case for sentence to the October sitting of the court.
