The number of patients with Covid-19 in intensive care has reduced to 14.
This is the lowest figure since 17th September 2020.
The Department of Health confirmed 393 new cases of Covid-19 in Ireland today.
There are 48 patients in Ireland’s hospitals receiving treatment for Covid-19 – down from 53 yesterday, while the ICU figure is down from 15 to 14.
HSE CEO Paul Reid gave “huge credit” to the public for supporting public health measures and the take up of vaccines. Twenty one Irish hospitals have just one case of Covid-19 or less.
Mr Reid tweeted this morning: “Every day that supplies allow for further vaccines, we see the benefits. ”
No county-by-county figures have been issued due to the recent ransomware attack on the HSE systems.
The Department say that daily case numbers may change due to future data review, validation and update, owing to the attack.
