Macbeths to the fore as St Johnston defeat Strabane

JACK Macbeth posted 50 runs as St Johnston overcame Strabane by 43 runs yesterday.

St Johnston made 195 all out in 40 overs, with Macbeth’s half-century leading the charge,

Michael Rankin (38), David Macbeth (27) and David Lapsley (22) were the others at the upper end of the scoreboard at Strabane Park.

Tony Harpur took four wickets for Strabane and Rhys Logue claimed three.

In reply, Aaron Gillespie hit 58 for the Red Caps and Tanvir Hassan made 45, but Strabane fell short, St Johnston’s bowlers led by Ian Macbeth, whose four wickets had Strabane all out on 152.
