Gaoth Dobhair brushed aside the challenge of Milford when they overpowered Milford at Magheragallon this afternoon.
The home side ran out 4-21 to 2-6 winners to get their championship campaign off to a solid start.
Their victory was all the more impressive considering they lost county star Odhran Ferry McFadden through a red card before the half-time whistle.
At that stage they already more or less had the game wrapped up leading 2-12 to 2-3.
Milford’s cause wasn’t helped when Tony McNamee was denied by Gaoth Dobhair ‘keeper Chris Sweeney.
Gaoth Dobhair scored at will while Fionnan Coyle added another goal for the home side to add to the misery of Milford on an afternoon they’ll want to forget.
Despite being without the McGee brothers, Gaoth Dobhair know they will have tougher tests but a win is a win.
