Donegal Gardai led out a ‘multi-agency’ checkpoint operation across Inishowen yesterday evening.
The surprise checkpoints were set up at Lisfannon and Burt throughout the day.
The checkpoints were carried out by members of the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit along with Road Safety Authority Ireland.
The aim of the operation was to ensure that heavy goods vehicles were complying with regulations.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed “A number of HGV’s and other vehicles were stopped and all were found to be in order.”
