Donegal’s Cyber Awareness Week is to be launched next week.
The campaign is to be launched by Chairperson of the Joint Policing Committee, Cllr Gerry McMonagle.
The committee recently addressed the issues cyber crime was posing across Donegal recently.
Detective Superintendent Paul Cleary told the committee of the dangers posed by all forms of cyber crime from ransomware to romance frauds.
Detective Cleary revealed how his unit in Dublin were investigating two incidents of ransomware attacks on Donegal companies.
Donegal’s Cyber Awareness Week launch will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday next in the Council Chamber, Letterkenny Public Services Centre.
The launch will include viewing of the Cyber Awareness Social Media Campaign adverts, funded through Healthy Ireland Fund.
