The community in Raphoe have launched a campaign to make their town sparkle brightly this Christmas.

And the campaign to improve the town’s festive lights has got off to the perfect start thanks to some of the more senior citizens.

The community has set up a Go Fund Me page in a bid to raise €3,500 for the lights upgrade.

The donations for this years Christmas lights will help with the cost of putting up, maintaining and taking down the lights.

Organisers got a lovely surprise when members of the Raphoe Fridays Senior Club made a very kind donation of €300.

Organisers say all donations no matter how big or small will be most welcome and will be acknowledged.
