A man who was found drunk while with children at a funfair in Letterkenny has been fined €300.
Gardai said they received reports from members of the public that the man was drunk while in charge of children.
The man appeared at Letterkenny District Court yesterday.
The court was told that the man, aged 35, was unsteady on his feet and was holding a bottle of alcohol when Gardai arrived.
Gardai said the man was arrested at 4.30pm for his own safety.
The man was given a fixed charge penalty notice which the court was told was never paid.
He was fined €300.
