A man in his 20s is to appear before Letterkenny District Court this morning charged in connection with the theft of a donation box at the Whoriskey’s Christmas Lights Fundraiser in Kerrykeel.
A large sum of money was taken when the donation box was stolen from outside the home of Mary and Michael Whoriskey at Gortcally on Saturday night.
However, Gardai recovered the box and the cash a number of hours later.
One man was arrested and will appear in court today.
