Letterkenny Rugby Club Under 18s play on the big stage this weekend when they feature in the Ulster League final.

Letterkenny U18s beat Carrickfergus to go through to Ulster League Final.

They met an experienced Carrickfergus in the semi-final of the Ulster League at home in Dave Gallaher Park last Saturday.

The game started well for our lads but it was a tightly matched game throughout.
Letterkenny dominated the play by keeping the defence lines intact and some fast powerful attack lines from the fast backs.

Tries came from Cillian Boyle, David Henry, Ultan Mc Guinness and Ewan Douglas with two conversions and one penalty.

The positive play was rewarded with an amazing team try to finish the game off. Final score 27-7. Men of the Match went to two Milford men Ewan Douglas for his powerful attack runs and Ryan Orsi for consistently dominating the lineout and some huge defence.

Letterkenny now travel to Ballymoney this Saturday to compete the Ulster Club League Final who they have met and beaten twice this season in the regional league rounds.

The 27 strong squad has matured over the season as they clearly relish the expansive style of rugby that is being coached at the club.

They have grown from strength to strength developing their back line attack set plays and rugged defence at the breakdowns.

However they are well aware that Ballymoney will never lie down so our boys will be 100% focused on their game plan for this coming Saturday.

The lads come from Letterkenny and surrounding areas including Milford, Trentagh, Fanad, Falcarragh, Glenties, Newtown and Strabane to train twice weekly, all fighting for their positions in the 1VX for the Saturday game.

This is a great reflection on their manager and trainer Kevin Arnold also their club which has shown a big increase in numbers at all ages From Minis to Seniors.
