Cockhill Celtic made their way into the FAI Intermediate Cup quarter-finals after a tense penalty shoot-out with Liffey Wanderers.

The Donegal side travelled to Dublin to face the Ringsend club at the ground of St. Patrick’s CYFC where Daniel Houghton was the hero.

The Cockhill keeper made the all important save as all five of Cockhill’s penalties were converted.

Adam McCarron was sent off for Gavin Cullen’s men early in the second half after two yellow cards but they held strong and came out worthy winners.

It was a great win for Cockhill as they beat the team that won the FAI Intermediate Cup in 2017.
