Confirmation of €1.8m for Donegal schools for digital technology infrastructure through the Digital Strategy for Schools to 2027 has been welcomed by Minister Charlie McConalogue.
Commenting, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine said: “Continuous digital support for all our schools is essential to help provide equity for all students in their education experience and to best prepare all of our children for life after school.
“This funding announcement for Donegal schools will help schools provide digital infrastructure for the betterment of the schools. I thank Minister Foley for her foresight in bringing forward this digital strategy and to all the school communities in Donegal for all they do.”
Donegal’s 176 primary schools received €1,149,496 and 27 post-primary schools received €737,785.
The strategy has been developed around three pillars, which aim to ensure that the school system is prepared for and continues to progress the embedding of digital technologies in teaching, learning and assessment:
– Pillar 1: Supporting the embedding of digital technologies in teaching, learning and assessment
– Pillar 2: Digital Technology Infrastructure
– Pillar 3: Looking to the future: policy, research and digital leadership
