Funeral details announced for tragic Inishowen crash victim

A popular Donegal man who died in a tragic Bank Holiday car accident will be laid to rest in his hometown later this week.

Jim Kenny, of Slivebawn, Malin Head, lost his life in a two car collision on the Mountain Road between Buncrana and Carndonagh at approximately 10.50pm on Sunday night. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were also taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries. The passenger, female aged in her 30s, is being treated at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital for serious injuries.

Jim Kenny, a father-of-two, who worked with HML Transport, was described as a man who “always had a smile on his face.”

Tributes to the 42-year-old said he will be deeply missed.

Funeral Mass will take place at the Star of the Sea Church, Malin Head on Friday 6th May.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny this afternoon, Wednesday May 4th at 2pm going his late home.

Funeral leaving there on Friday morning, May 6th at 10.30am going to the Star of the Sea Church, Malin Head for Requiem Mass at 11am.

Interment afterwards in Lagg Cemetery, Malin.

House Private tomorrow, Thursday from 9pm for family and close friends only please.
