The funeral will be held this morning for three siblings killed in a violent attack at their home in Tallaght, Co Dublin last weekend.
The requiem mass of eight-year-old twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley and their 18-year-old sister Lisa Cash will take place at St Aidan’s Church in Brookfield, Tallaght at 10am.
A large crowd of mourners gathered yesterday evening as the remains of the siblings were brought to the church by horse-drawn carriage.
The siblings died violently after an incident at their home on Rossfield Avenue in the early hours of Sunday.
Their brother Andy Cash (24) has been charged in connection with the three murders.
Speaking ahead of the mass, St Aidan’s parish priest Fr Bill O’Shaughnessy said the community is “in shock and reeling”.
Speaking to RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, Fr O’Shaughnessy said the family members were “numb with silence” during the removal last night.
“It was probably one of the most silent removals to a church that I have ever experienced, since my ordination,” he said.
“It was a moment where the community and, indeed, and all those present were just shocked and numb at seeing such beautiful young lives being brought into the church at this stage.
“It’s quite extraordinary to see the family just completely numb with silence.”
