Donegal recorded the lowest disposable income per person in the state in 2020, new CSO figures reveal.
At €18,322 per person, the average disposable income in Donegal is 22% below the state average.
Dublin’s disposable income was the highest at €27,686 per person in 2020.
The Regional GDP figures vary according to how many people are working in each county.
Counties in the Midland and Border regions have the lowest percentage of employed people in the state due to low populations and lack of industry in these regions. Donegal, however, is above average with 2.72% of persons employed in the state working in the county.
The Central Statistics Office estimated that the average total income per person in Donegal in 2020 was €23,431.
