The Donegal bowling team are over the moon after their big win at the World Bowls Championships.
Eddie Curran, Daniel O’Kane, Michael Gallagher and John Quinn (pictured) lifted the World Rinks Title at the World Short Mat Bowls Council Championships held in Aberdeen, Scotland, last week.

The Donegal bowls team is made up of: Eddie Curran, Daniel O’Kane, Michael Gallagher and John Quinn.
The rinks competition is made up of teams of four players. The Donegal quartet got the chance to represent Ireland when they qualified for the World Championships back in December after winning the Irish qualifiers in Belfast.
Daniel and Michael play their club bowls for St Eunan’s, Raphoe, while Eddie and John play for close neighbours, Ballylennon.
At the championships, they qualified top of their group winning all but one of their seven games against Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Wales, England, Scotland and Canada.
In the knockout stages, they beat English rinks in both the semi final and the final to secure victory and win Donegal its first ever World Bowls title.
