Father Ted star Ardal O’Hanlon was in good company yesterday when he visited the 28 Infantry Battalion in Finner.

The actor and comedian stopped by to interview the camp’s Unit Chaplain as part of his upcoming TV series.

He also enjoyed a cuppa in the NCO’s mess. Tea, of course, was the order of the day, which Mrs Doyle would approve of!

The soldiers, sharing a photo on Instagram, said they were delighted to welcome the star and they look forward to seeing the results of the filming. It’s believed that O’Hanlon is touring the coast as part of a new wildlife and travel show, but all will be revealed in due course.

O’Hanlon has also spent time in West Donegal this summer. In July, he was welcomed aboard the Arranmore Red ferry to sail out to Arranmore… and enjoyed another cuppa in Burtonport!
