Councillor hopes ‘big bin’ will deter holiday makers from dumping

A south west Donegal councillor hopes a pay-as-you-go waste disposal unit will deter holiday makers from illegal dumping.

Cllr Niamh Kennedy said the new ‘Big Bin’ in Killybegs will allow campers and AirBnB visitors to dispose of their refuse.

“The bins and bottle banks in the towns are for litter not household rubbish,” she stressed.

“Well done Breslins Filling Station. Anyone that has guests can now let them know where to go to pay to dispose of their waste, if bins are not provided by the accommodation provider.”
