This year’s Mary’s Meals Sponsored Walk from Malin Town to Knock commences on Monday and arrives in Knock in the morning of Tuesday 15th August.
For those who wish to take part, but for some reason cannot do so, the organisers have planned a Walk in Letterkenny Town Park for Tuesday, 8th August, from 1pm to 2.00pm. Everyone is welcome to take part, no matter what your fitness or age. All children taking part must be accompanied by an adult.
“We would encourage workers to take part during their lunch hour and you can walk for as long as you wish,” a spokesperson for the organisers said.
“If, however, you only want to do one lap or even half a lap that is ok too. Please come along and enjoy the fresh air and show solidarity with the walkers to Knock and for
the children who are getting fed by Mary’s Meals and those who are still waiting to receive meals. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The charity provides school meals in areas around the world where hunger prevents children from gaining an education.
