A new owner has been found for a ‘dream’ coastal cottage in west Donegal.
Located on the Portnoo side of Gweebarra Bridge at Mulnaminamore, ‘The Ferry House’ went on the market earlier this year for €275,000. It has gone ‘sale agreed’ in recent days.
Described by the selling agents, Henry Kee and Son, as a ‘dream coastal property’, the vacant cottage with stunning views is set on 4.64 acres.

It was the location where the public purchased a boat ride across the estuary before Gweebarra Bridge was constructed, hence the name ‘The Ferry House’.
This property has hundreds of metres of beach frontage and includes three buildings in total – ‘The Ferry House’ plus a derelict cottage, as well as a boathouse at the water’s edge. Also contained on the property are two piers – an old stone pier and a more modern one.
“With the Atlantic Ocean lapping on its shores along the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s spectacular coastal route, it is very seldom that a property of this type with both substantial developmental potential and extensive beach frontage comes on the market in County Donegal,” boasts the sales literature.
