A person has been airlifted from Rutland Island off Burtonport for medical treatment this afternoon.
The Malin Head Coastguard Centre received a call at 1pm to say a person was in need of medical attention.
They alerted both the Arranmore Lifeboat and the Rescue 118 helicopter.
Members of the National Ambulance Service were taken by the lifeboat to the island while the Rescue 118 also landed on the island.
A decision was then made to fly the casualty to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment.
The exact nature of the incident has not been disclosed.
